Tamblingan Forest - buyan lake nature reserve

Today's adventure was a trip to the Tamblingan Forest and Buyan Lake nature reserve. What an adventure it was. Our group traveled two hours north. Having the opportunity to meet such amazing people and then have the time to truly get to know them has been a blessing. It definitely made a two hour shuttle ride go by fast.

Our first stop was at a hotel to eat lunch. So many wonderful flavors in the food that was offered. I had seconds! The picture to the left is the view from the area where we ate lunch. It is difficult to see here, but far off is the ocean.

We traveled about 20 more minutes to the entrance of the forest. We hiked through the forest having the opportunity to see 200-400 year old Ficas trees, listen to the sounds of the animals and insects, and observe the largest spider I personally have ever seen. It was a very peaceful experience, despite the spider. Ha!

As our hike finished, on the other end of the forest, we were greeted by Buyan lake. It was very exciting to be able to boat across this lake together. The view was absolutely breathtaking.

At the end of our boat trip we stopped to have a snack and fresh coconut water. On this part of the land there was a temple surrounded by a high wall. I appreciated this wall because it allowed me to image that there was a  magical garden on the other side.
As we finished our visit we departed from the reserve and traveled back to our hotel. We thankfully stopped back at the hotel where we ate lunch and was able to witness a breathtaking sunset.

I am so grateful to have been able to take part in this day. I am amazed at how life is able to unfold so beautifully when you are able to trust and allow it to happen. I am blessed!

Thanks for taking the time to read about my adventure!

Today was the start of the retreat and what a day it was! I met so many wonderful people in one day it was unbelievable. There are no words to express how it all feels for me.
There is so much amazing energy and love and I feel so grateful to be surrounded by it all.

We had the opportunity today to visit a Temple that was built in the 14th century. The Temple was built around 10 natural springs. It is incredible that something has existed for so long and still have ceremonies like the ones that took place long ago. I feel very honored to have been able to visit this sacred place.

I'm not sure what day of the week it is or the time, but I do know that I have arrived and I feel like I'm in the most magical place. I'm pretty sure that time does not matter because everything has been so wonderful and it all just feels so right.

I spent the past five hours exploring the grounds, taking a swim, meeting many fabulous individuals and eating some delicious food. I sit at this moment listening to the gentle falling of the rain getting ready to go to sleep. Tomorrow is the beginning of the retreat and I already feel like a child on Christmas Eve. I am about to embark on an experience that I know will be life changing.

Make sure you check back in tomorrow! Thanks for taking the time to read.

At this moment I am sitting on a flight to Sydney, Australia en route to Bali, Indonesia, all on my own. If you asked me five years ago if I thought I would be doing this in five years I would have laughed. My life has completely changed since then and it has been an incredible journey of transformation with highs and lows. I would not change a thing because, with all that I have gone through, all of it has guided me to this present moment.
I am grateful!

Back to sitting on a flight to Bali, it has been nine and a half hours since my flight left LAX and I have accepted the fact that I will be on this plane for six more hours. Once I land in Sydney, I will then board a seven-hour flight to Bali. I am filled with excitement for what the next week will bring for me. I have no expectations, I have no idea what I am in for and I have become so good with uncertainty that I trust that it will be magical. The only known for me is that I will be attending a Well-being Worldwide Retreat. Anything with the word “Well-being” in it is right up my alley. I look forward to all the experiences and wisdom that I will gain on my trip so that I can continue growing in my practice and share it with all of you.

One of the things I have learned over the last five years is that if you accept the present moment as it is without any judgment, then you can navigate life in a way that is meant to be. I have learned to let go of what I think my life should be and allowed myself to embark on the path of what the universe has laid out for me. I know that God has great things in store for me and I have done work to trust the process.

Here I go…

(Check back daily for Mindful Moments in Bali.)
