July 23, 2019 Today's adventure was a trip to the Tamblingan Forest and Buyan Lake nature reserve. What an adventure it was. Our group traveled two hours north. Having the opportunity to meet such amazing people and then have the time to truly get to know them has been a blessing. It definitely made a two hour shuttle ride go by fast. Our first stop was at a hotel to eat lunch. So many wonderful flavors in the food that was offered. I had seconds! The picture to the left is the view from the area where we ate lunch. It is difficult to see here, but far off is the ocean. We traveled about 20 more minutes to the entrance of the forest. We hiked through the forest having the opportunity to see 200-400 year old Ficas trees, listen to the sounds of the animals and insects, and observe the largest spider I personally have ever seen. It was a very peaceful experience, despite the spider. Ha! As our hike finished, on the other end of the forest, we were greeted by Buyan lake. It was very exciting to be able to boat across this lake together. The view was absolutely breathtaking. At the end of our boat trip we stopped to have a snack and fresh coconut water. On this part of the land there was a temple surrounded by a high wall. I appreciated this wall because it allowed me to image that there was a magical garden on the other side. As we finished our visit we departed from the reserve and traveled back to our hotel. We thankfully stopped back at the hotel where we ate lunch and was able to witness a breathtaking sunset. I am so grateful to have been able to take part in this day. I am amazed at how life is able to unfold so beautifully when you are able to trust and allow it to happen. I am blessed!
Thanks for taking the time to read about my adventure!
