,February is finally here! It's been awhile since my last post. January became a month of "hibernation" for me. I took some time to look inwards and I'm grateful for the learning and healing I did. I'm inspired now to create a month of posts about Love. Hmmm, how ironic? Love is a simple, yet complicated word. In my quiet time during January, I discovered a few things about love that have helped me open my eyes to understanding it more deeply. I hope to share that deeper understanding in my posts this month. So, that brings us to today's phrase, Love is Kind. Kindness is a state of being kind. There is nothing more to it. To me, being kind and loving is natural and because it is natural, one doesn't need anything from it or expects something in return. The only benefit from being kind and loving is the fact that you are living in a way that you see all the positive things in life. My mom and I had a beautiful conversation yesterday on the phone. She recommended a poem for me to read. The poem was found written on the wall of Mother Theresa's home. It is titled, "Do It Anyway." Below is a verse that resonates with me. "If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway." When I read this verse, I thought about something that took me a long time to be able to do, which was to accept a kind act from someone else. I truly believe that we get what we give. When we are kind and loving with no expectations, then others are kind and loving without expectations back. It is a remarkable feeling to trust and know that love is all around us. We must open our eyes and our hearts to see it.
Enjoy this beautiful day that we all have been given! Thanks for stopping by!
