"Dinner is better when we eat together." -Unknown My 8 year old said to me the other day, "I like when we sit down together to eat." I took a moment to realize how important eating together was. I remember as a kid, my family ate dinner almost every night together. No television, no phones, just quality time together enjoying the food in front of us and sharing about the day. I am so grateful that my mom and dad instilled this in me.
Take a moment and think about the last time you sat down for a meal at home. During that meal, you enjoyed the food and/or the company. Notice how that makes you feel. Being mindful of when we eat, what we eat and who we eat with can make for a more positive attitude about food. Challenge yourself at your next meal to practice a little mindful eating. Enjoy!
