"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library." -Jorge Luis Borges Day Twenty: Today's post is shared by Sonya. Sonya is an impressive eleven year old that I am fortunate to teach. Her depth of knowledge and the desire to learn is infectious. If you need a book recommendation, she has one for you!
"I love books. For me, books are a window into a different world. I spend rainy days alongside the Fairy Godmother, solve the mystery of the libraries alongside Mr. Lemoncello, and learn about the making of a spindle with the witch. I love to hunt for lessons woven through each page, admire the tapestry that emerges from each story. The unique lesson that is in each book, each story has me laughing, crying, and smiling along with the story. I sometimes feel like I'm watching a movie, as the characters dance across the page. Books are a necessity to me. The moment I get home, I usually find my way to the couch with a book under my arm. They make me happy, floating away from physics and science that say that you can't fly. My imagination soars next to Dumbo, believing in him every step of the way. And when the little blue engine gets to the top of the hill, I'm there waiting for it. I sneak along the rebel lines with Emma Edmonds, and sail the seven seas with Ms. Artemisia Fitz-Willowby Weather-House. What makes me happy? That's hard to choose, since I have a library to choose from (no pun intended) but definitely, books." -Sonya Take a moment and think about a book that you read that you just couldn't put down. Notice how that makes you feel. Thank you, Sonya for taking a moment to share something you love.

Day Nineteen: Today's post is shared by my talented cousin, Lauren. "I love performing, whether it be on camera or onstage, I love being able to step into the shoes of someone else for a little while. This is what allows me to connect with people and their situations. For me, being onstage feels like home. I think it is so important to be able to create understanding among people. Whether one is performing the role or someone is in the audience enjoying the performance, it allows both a way to escape into the world and see something through someone else's eyes and viewpoint. I have learned so much through exploring different characters and in that, it has allowed me to find and love myself." -Lauren Take a moment and think about a character in a role that you made a connection with. Notice how that makes you feel. Thank you, Lauren for taking a moment to share something you love! Keep shining your amazing light in London! Day Eighteen: Today's post is shared by Athen. Athen is one of my former students and now I have the honor of working with him, one on one. He is a ray of sunshine. After I finish working with him, I leave with a huge grin on my face. Thank you Athen for being you!
Take a moment and think about how it would feel to have a sweet child sit on the front porch singing a song about you. It warms my heart to even have the opportunity to share this beautiful video.
Athen is such an amazing child. He is authentic and truly knows how to live life to the fullest. Thank you my friend for taking a moment to share something you love! I am blessed to know you! "I love my dog. Before the unconditional love of my children, there was Joe. He was my happy place. He showed me true love, happiness, and responsibility before I knew how to be a mom...before I found my partner. I'd come home everyday and he was there no matter what I had gone through, excited to see me and ready for snuggles. He was my home." -Melody Day Seventeen: Today's post is shared by my friend, Melody. Take a moment and think about a dog or pet that you have or had in the past. Notice how you feel about having them in your life. Thank you, Melody for taking a moment to share something you love! |
